OUR STORY

A story of hands, metal and fire.

The SAF oven tradition began with Gianfranco Atzeni’s experience and continues today with his son Antonio Salvatore.

FROM THE BEGINNING TO TODAY

From industrial experience to an oven built by hand.

1982

The idea takes shape

Gianfranco Atzeni draws on his experience in metalworking and welding to design and develop a wood-fired oven with an innovative separate-combustion system.

1994

The SAF oven reaches the market

G.C.A. di Atzeni Gianfranco is founded, and the SAF wood-fired oven goes on sale. The project becomes an artisan business dedicated to making wood-fired ovens.

Today

The tradition continues

Dr Antonio Salvatore Atzeni carries on his father’s craftsmanship through Ditta Atzeni Antonio. Building on the original design, he expands the SAF range with the Quadro and Sardegna models alongside the historic Model 90.

A DOCUMENTED HISTORY

A story with deep roots.

Gianfranco Atzeni’s story was also featured in L’Unione Sarda on 25 May 2001, in an article by Andrea Fois. His professional experience, including work abroad, helped shape the project.

This page tells the story without reproducing the full newspaper article, which is subject to copyright.

Model 90 was designed by Gianfranco; Quadro and Sardegna were designed by Antonio.

Craftsmanship means building directly.

Not anonymous mass production: every SAF oven is made to order by someone who knows its design and construction.

The artisan approach allows every stage of production to be followed directly.
